Who We Are

Cartagena Entertainment & Management, LLC, operating under Viva Combo Music, Combo Records, and Rico Records, is a cornerstone of Latin music with a legacy rooted in salsa since 1969. Based in Union City, New Jersey, with an office in Puerto Rico, the company has long been dedicated to artist management, production, and the preservation of salsa’s most influential recordings and orchestras.

Founded and led by Ralph Cartagena, whose career is defined by integrity and a lifelong commitment to Latin music, the company manages the legendary Puerto Rico All Stars, a historic salsa super-orchestra originally formed in 1976 and revived under Cartagena’s leadership in 2010.

Through Viva Combo Music, Cartagena Entertainment also produced the historic Cubana All Stars project, uniting 38 renowned Cuban artists for the 2012 Havana-recorded release A Dream Come True.

By stewarding iconic ensembles, remastering classic catalogs, and supporting artists honored by the Recording Academy, Cartagena Entertainment continues to preserve and advance salsa’s cultural legacy for generations to come.
